Ěin't No Cavalry Comin': a few problems with attempting this in Long War (1) Long War introduces Fatigue which WILL almost invalidates the achievement on its own (2) the improvements that aliens receive, your soldiers getting wounded at some point is almost a forgone conclusion (3) the increased rate at which alien attacks and councel missions happens in addition to 1 and 2 means you are not very likely to have the soldier always available (this is without Prionics, MeC, and Gene Mod times even being considered) (4) base defense RNG can just steal this away without any chance (in Ironman you only have mission restart which will change 3 of the 5 starting Soldiers you get, but your pool of 12, will be randomly reduced to 8 when you hit mission start which is before the restart point, and the other 4 will just poof into thin air until the end of the mission, restarting multiple times you will be able see which ones you will get, and it might just kill your run for Soldier Coddling) No Looking Back: you will celebrate, you will smile, you will feel real Pride and Accomplishment, you will get frustrated, you will CRY (A LOT), if you are playing without mission restart Second Wave option then you will restart your entire run at some point. Lone Wolf: one soldier in squad select screen, and a lot of Faith & tears I was able to get these on Long War, but I do not advise doing these on Long War without some form of ini change, cheats, or a lot of Determination. If an achievement is not listed here then I was able to get it in primarily the same way as intended, just that Long war makes many of them less “trivial” Remember that several achievements are even in base game mutually exclusive, and even moving in the path for 1 specific achievement may invalidate at least 1 other.
I have done about 3 playthoughs of Long War in order to get this information. Whether you want to try for them in Long War that is up to you. So I reset my Achievement progress on Steam for the game, and tried to figure out what Achievements are and are not possible.
I did not edit the ini files for these runs, but for some of these I wish I did.īefore compiling this information I have played the game in standard Enemy Within mode, and got most of the achievements, then saw some questions floating about specific Achievements and whether they were ?possible? in Long War.

This information is based on Enemy Within with all DLC, and Long War 1.0 found here [though the version is listed as 1.0 I used the 28 Dec, 2015 version for PC specifically to avoid confusion.
